Pía Cruzalegui, MFA
Pia Cruzalegui is a Chicago based visual artist who is dedicated to creating spaces to show art for local and international emerging artists. As an artist, she uses video as a medium to create sensory site specific installations, and her work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Chicago, Dubai and Paris. As a curator, she organizes art exhibitions geared towards artists who work creating installations, including traditional mediums, as well as digital media and performance art. Pia Cruzalegui was invited as an artist-curator to the Zhou B. Art Center throughout 2015, where she developed the New Media and Performance Room. She is also the founder of the Twisted Oyster Film Festival and currently curates UnLock Hause, An Eclectic Space. Pía Cruzalegui holds a graduate degree in Visual Arts – Studio Practice from the School of the Art Institute and has studied and worked with artists, visionaries and mentors like Gregg Bordowitz, Matthew Buckingham and Sergio Gomez.
